Industrialized construction as game changer in the real estate and building sectors

20/10/2025

This was the main theme under discussion on the afternoon of 16 October at Espacio Arquia in Madrid, with the participation of Anselmo Menéndez, Subdirector General for Housing Policy and Aid of the Spanish Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning; Carlos Peña, partner in Public and Regulatory Law at Andersen; Raimon Royo, Director General of Finance at Arquia Banca; and Eduardo Prieto, Technical Director of BAI (Building & Architecture Institute). Moderated by Eduardo González, partner in the Real Estate area at Andersen, the conversation dealt with the different technical, legal, and financial aspects of industrialized construction.

As the Arquia Banca newsletter reads, industrialized construction is a more efficient and sustainable way of building, with a major component of innovation, but still with scarce implementation in Spain, where only between 1% and 2% of the housing units completed use industrialized systems. The panel offered an expert perspective of the main challenges and the keys for the advancement in this new construction model, promoting access to housing, economic growth, and the achievement of the environmental goals set by Europe.
