Signing of Collaboration Agreements between UPNA, Universidad de Navarra, and ETH Zurich

BAI held the signing and presentation ceremony of the collaboration agreements between the Public University of Navarra (UPNA), the University of Navarra, and ETH Zurich, a key milestone in shaping the institute’s academic and institutional ecosystem. The event, held on March 27 in the Sala de Armas of the Citadel of Pamplona, not only formalized this alliance but also publicly showcased BAI’s strategic scope, its shared lines of action, and the upcoming programming of BAI Academy. The day also included a panel discussion highlighting what this collaboration means for the signing institutions, consolidating a network of work between universities, international excellence, and the institutional project. This step provides a solid foundation to expand future agreements with other universities, companies, and strategic actors, aiming to strengthen a training, research, knowledge-transfer, and innovation ecosystem capable of structurally transforming the construction and architecture sector. The alignment of this alliance fully supports BAI’s mission as a center of reference in industrialization, robotics, and innovation in construction and architecture.
The opening was led by Eduardo Prieto, Technical Director of BAI, who introduced the institute under the question “What is BAI?”. Juan Luis García, Minister of University, Innovation, and Digital Transformation, then spoke about BAI’s significance for Navarra and the shared lines of action under the agreements. The formal signing was attended by Mónica Cortiñas, Vice-Rector for Economy, Quality, and Strategy at UPNA; Igor Errasti, General Administrator of the University of Navarra; Andrea Deplazes, representing D-ARCH ETH Zurich; and Marta Silvero, Executive Director of BAI. Following the signing, Marta Silvero presented the upcoming BAI Academy program.
In the second part of the event, after viewing the BAI video, a panel discussion focused on the implications of the collaboration for the signatories, featuring Juan Luis García, Patxi Mangado (Academic Director of the BAI Postgraduate Program), Mónica Cortiñas, Igor Errasti, Andrea Deplazes, and Eva Perujániz, Director General of Universities, in a dynamic session exploring the scope, purpose, and potential of this institutional alliance.
