The first year of the BAI Postgraduate program will be held at the Monastery of Leyre

Robotic arms under Romanesque vaults: the Monastery of Leyre, a treasure of the Middle Ages in Spain and one of the most important monuments of Navarre, will harbor the first year of the BAI Postgraduate program.

Thanks to the agreement signed between the Regional Government of Navarre – owner of the property – and the Benedictine community of Leyre – which has the usufruct of the monastery –, the BAI Program will be carried out in an environment of unique artistic value and extraordinary natural beauty, evocative of the three of the main objectives of the National Center for Industrialization and Robotization. In the first place, the integration of the new technologies in a broader humanistic frame; secondly, the close connection between the BAI and Navarre; and, thirdly, the democratic nature of the BAI, which in Leyre opens up to interior and rural areas, so often in need of activation triggers through thought and technology.

The BAI Program will take place in Leyre while the just started construction works of the institution’s headquarters in Pamplona last but, once the new building is completed, complementary activities of research, training, and learning will continue to be held at the monastery as part of the future BAI Institute of Humanities and Technology.
