BAI takes part in IEEE CAI with a panel on AI, architecture, and the city

BAI participated in the IEEE CAI Congress held in Granada from May 8 to 10, reinforcing a line of work the institute has been developing around artificial intelligence and its implications for architecture, the city, and the contemporary project. BAI organized the thematic panel “AI, Architecture, and the City,” a space for reflection aimed at critically examining whether algorithms constitute a new disciplinary paradigm or rather an intensification of the growing technologization of architectural design. Following presentations by experts Lluís Ortega, Sergio del Castillo, and Salvador Rueda, which explored AI not only as an optimization tool but also as a potential agent of conceptual transformation in architecture and urbanism, a roundtable discussion moderated by Eduardo Prieto, Technical Director of BAI, took place. BAI’s participation in the congress also extends the work initiated in Granada through the *“AI & Architecture”* workshop, consolidating a line of research and education that approaches artificial intelligence as a field to be explored with critical ambition, disciplinary rigor, and an applied vocation.
