Navarre invests 9 million euros in the future Center for Industrialization and Robotics

24/02/2025

The Government of Navarre has agreed to authorize the Director General of the University to entrust the public company NASUVINSA with the construction and launch of the building that will house the future Center for Industrialization and Robotics applied to Construction and Architecture, called Building & Architecture Institute (BAI).

The regional government plans to invest 9 million euros over the years 2025-2027 in the promotion of this project, which has economic support from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by Next Generation EU- European Union, with funds from the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Tourism and the Government of Navarre's own Department of University, Innovation, and Digital Transformation. The intervention is part of the Navarre Investment Program 2025 (PRIN25).

The implementation of this National Reference Center for Industrialization and Robotics responds to the need to promote the transformation of the economic and productive model of the construction sector, seeking an increase in the quality of construction, the adjustment of costs, and the development of sustainable building.

With the promotion of this project, the Government of Navarre aims to promote training, research, and innovation in the sector, in order to advance and incorporate industrial processes in architecture that serve to improve traditional construction systems, with more productive, sustainable, and efficient processes. The objective is to incorporate technological, digital, and robotization advances in construction.

To make this center a national reference in industrialization and robotics applied to construction and architecture, the Department of University, Innovation, and Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda recently signed a collaboration agreement for its implementation. The signing of this agreement was preceded by the establishment of the BAI Foundation and the appointment of its general director, engineer Aritz González.
